"X. Pour Concrete in Cold Weather When pourin g concrete in cold weather, keep the concrete temperature at the point of delivery at least 50 °F (10 °C). Do not use accelerator -containing chlorides. Mix and p our concrete in cold weather as follows: 1. Keep concrete materials at the right temperatures. • Do not use materials in concrete mix that contain frozen lumps. • Do not incorporate water and aggregates into the mix with temperatures more than 150 °F (65 °C). • If aggregates or water temperatures are above 100 °F (40 °C), discharge the aggregates and water into the mixer and allow the temperatures to equalize before adding the cement. • Heat aggregate with steam, hot water coils, or other methods that do not damage the aggregates.
