Terms of Service

Effective 27 August 2026 (rebranded from AvaOnSite; same service and data practices)

These terms govern your use of Verika's (formerly AvaOnSite) apps, website, and API (“the Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them.

Safety first — read this one.

Verika provides information with citations to help you find and understand codes, standards, and your company's own practices. It is not a substitute for professional engineering judgment, licensed advice, or the official text of any code. Always verify safety-critical work against the cited official source and your own qualified people before acting. Construction is dangerous; decisions on site are yours.

Your account

Keep your credentials secure and your account information accurate. You're responsible for activity under your account. Company owners control their company's knowledge base, membership, and roles; joining a company with an invite code shares your questions' gap data with that company's owner.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the Service: no unlawful use, no attempting to break, overload, or reverse-engineer it, no scraping answers at scale, no uploading content you don't have rights to, and no attempting to access another company's data.

Your content

Your company's knowledge entries and uploaded or connected documents remain yours. You grant us the license needed to store, process, index, and serve them back to your company's users — that's it. Public legal sources cited by Verika (state codes, federal regulations, public specifications) remain subject to their own terms.

Pilot & paid plans

During the pilot the Service is free. Published founding rates are honored for accounts that remain continuously subscribed once billing begins. Paid subscriptions, when live, are billed through Stripe monthly per plan, and you can cancel any time effective at the period's end. We may change list prices with at least 30 days' notice; founding-rate commitments are kept.

Availability & changes

The Service is provided “as is” — we work hard on accuracy and uptime (and show our accuracy openly) but don't guarantee either, and features may change, especially during the pilot. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for outcomes of construction decisions made without verifying the cited official sources. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending things

You can stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We may terminate accounts for breach of these terms, with notice where practical.

Contact & updates

We'll post updates to these terms here with a new effective date, and email account holders about significant changes. Questions: hello@heyverika.com.
